Mission:
The Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) Intelligence Brigade (JIB) is the driving component of JSOC's targeting enterprise, preparing assigned, attached, and augmentation forces and, when directed, provide intelligence support against threats to protect the homeland and US interests abroad, ILLUMINATING THE ENEMY with unfailing precision for the most elite and surgically employed forces in the world.
How To Join
The JIB is one of only a handful of organizations that maintains the mandate to recruit, assess, and select each of its members. Every member of the JIB is selected and hired by current members of the Brigade. Interested candidates are recommended to request and submit an application packet 12-18 months out from their eligible PCS date. Applicants with fewer than 12 months prior to PCS window should contact the Recruiting Team for specific instructions.
Eligibility
Enlisted Candidates E4 and above. Air Force candidates must have obtained/surpassed their 5-level.
Warrants: US Army CW2-CW3
Officers: O2*-O4 (*Army MI officers are highly recommended to be O-3 who are KD complete)
Service member must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (SCI) clearance.

The Assessment and Selection process consists of three phases:

Phase II: Assessment & Selection Committee Review
- JIB Recruiting, Assessment, Selection, and Training Troop conducts initial screening of Application Packet
- Application Packet is forwarded to Personnel Section for concurrence
- Application Packet is screened by the Chain of Command
- Medical Records are screened by JIB Medical
- Security Questionnaire is reviewed by the SSO
- Navy: Detailer release REQUIRED to screen and must provide a copy of the release approval prior to consideration for Phase III.
- Candidate is notified of approval or disapproval for Phase 3
Phase III: Assessment & Selection Course
- Candidate is brought TDY/TAD to Fort Bragg, NC (Funded by JSOC)
- Service-specific Physical Fitness Test (Run, no alternate)
- Psychological Exams and Interview
- Knowledge-Based Test and Skills Verification
- Security Interview
- Selection Board
