Normal Transition Process

Officer Separations

Officer Separations

The separation process for Officers involves additional steps and documentation to ensure a proper transition from commissioned service. Officers planning to separate from the Army must complete the following requirements:

  • Separation Counseling
  • Sexual Assault Memo
  • Reserve Counseling Memo
  • Tuition Assistance Acknowledgment Memo
  • Soldier Talent Profile

All voluntary separation requests must be submitted through the officer's brigade S1 to the local Transition Center no earlier than 12 months and no later than 6 months from requested separation date.
