About

USAG Bavaria PAO supports the Garrison Commander’s mission by providing Command Information (CI) through official news, social media, and digital platforms, ensuring accurate and timely communication within the community. Through Community Relations (ComRel), Bavaria PAO strengthens ties with local host nation partners by supporting official ceremonies, organizing community tours, and responding to media requests.

Community Relations

Community Relations (Comrel), as part of the broader Community Outreach and Engagement efforts under the U.S. Army Public Affairs Program, is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships between the military and local civilian communities. This includes organizing and supporting host nation events, official ceremonies, and providing informational tours of the Grafenwoehr training area and Water Tower to increase transparency and mutual understanding and to educate neighboring communities about the U.S. Army mission and history. ComRel also handles media interactions and requests, and supports engagement through organizations such as the German-American Kontakt Club. These activities aim to foster trust, cooperation, and open communication with both U.S. and international publics in accordance with Army policy and AR 360-1.

Command Information

The Garrison PAO Command Information (CI) team is responsible for event coverage—including photography, written stories, and official documentation—as well as managing social media posts, website and app updates, and reviewing speeches, remarks, and other command-related content. These services are provided only for events and activities that directly support the Garrison Commander’s mission and intent, in accordance with AR 360-1 (The Army Public Affairs Program). Additionally, only events involving official mission partners or those within the garrison community may be shared on official platforms. Per AR 360-1, the Army is prohibited from endorsing non-federal entities; therefore, events sponsored by outside organizations or unrelated to the command’s mission cannot be promoted or published on official websites or social media channels. Events from external partners must be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure compliance and prevent the appearance of endorsement, while still supporting community awareness when appropriate. To request PAO support, please ensure your event clearly aligns with the Garrison PAO mission.
