Col. Jason C. Caldwell, Director, Directorate of Simulation

Col. Jason C. Caldwell serves as the Director of Simulation for the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence. He received his commission as an Infantry Officer from the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. In his most recent assignment, he served as the Director of Simulation at the Joint Multinational Simulation Center (JMSC) in Grafenwöhr, Germany. Previous assignments include service as an Airborne Rifle Platoon Leader, Adjutant, & Executive Officer in 1-325th Airborne Infantry Regiment (AIR) of the 82nd Airborne Division, Ranger Instructor in 6th Ranger Training Battalion, Company Commander of C Co 1-507th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR), Company Commander for HHC 1-507th PIR, AC/RC Team Chief for 1-180th IN, 4th Infantry Division Exercise Planner & Knowledge Management Officer, Combat Analyst in the TRADOC Analysis Center – Monterey, and Futures Division Chief & Chief of Operations at the National Simulation Center.

Caldwell is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic and Captains Career Courses, Ranger School, Airborne School, Pathfinder School, Combined Arms Service Staff School, Simulation Operations Course (FA57 Qualification), Command & General Staff College, and the Naval War College. He holds a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College and a Master of Science in Modeling, Virtual Environments, and Simulations (MOVES) from the Naval Postgraduate School.  His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with five Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Operation Iraqi Freedom Campaign Medal, Multinational Force & Observers Medal, Ranger Tab, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, and Pathfinder Badge.
