We are the best trained Unit Ministry Teams living up to the highest standards of our Chaplain Corps legacy, intentionally being at the right place at the right time with something eternal to offer those in normal life experiences and during their most challenging life circumstances.

Command Chaplain Vision

Ensure Title 10 religious support of all faith groups for the Soldiers, Family members, and authorized Civilians throughout the Fort Polk areas of operations and responsibility. Oversee a collaborative effort among the garrison and mission UMTs to achieve first class and outstanding religious support activities for the Post Community. Coach, mentor, train and partner with all UMTs to ensure each UMT is fully resourced and professionally equipped to meet the various faith based needs to make all personnel Fort Polk Strong.

CH Scott Hammond

Born in Columbus, Ohio. Married to the former Sharon K. Pulis on 1 January 1990. Ordained with the Assemblies of God since 1992. He and his wife pastored a church in Laurie, Missouri for two and half years before coming on Active Duty at Fort Campbell, Kentucky during the summer of 1993. They have three incredible children, Caleb (age 21), Meagan (age 19), and Luke (age 17). He also served in the IRR as a chaplain candidate from May 1991-July 1993.

CIVILIAN EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Central Bible College at Springfield, Missouri - 1990. Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling & Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary at Springfield, Missouri - 1992. Educational Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Sarasota at Sarasota, Florida 2001.

MILITARY ASSIGNMENTS: USAG Fort Polk Chaplain from July 2020 to present​​​. 21st Theater Sustainment Command Chaplain at Kaiserslautern, GE from June 2014 to June 2020. US Army Africa Deputy Command Chaplain at Vicenza, IT from July 2012 to June 2014. 25th Infantry Division Chaplain at Schofield Barracks, HI from January 2010 to July 2012. Joint Multinational Training Command Chaplain at Grafenwhoer, GE from August 2008 to December 2009. 5th Brigade 1st Armored Division Chaplain (AETF) at Fort Bliss, TX from January 2007 to July 2008. 101st Airborne Deputy Division Chaplain at Fort Campbell, KY from July 2004 to December 2006. CGSC Student at the Combined Arms Center Fort Leavenworth KS from June 2003 to July 2004. Regimental Chaplain for 2d Armored Cavalry Regiment at Fort Polk, LA from June 2002 to July 2003. Combat Maneuver Training Center Observer Controller at Hohenfels GE from May 2000 to June 2002. 501st Forward Support Battalion Chaplain at Friedberg, GE from June 1996 to May 2000. 1-502d Infantry Battalion Chaplain at Fort Campbell KY from June 1993 to June 1996.

DEPLOYMENTS: Operation Iraqi Freedom/New Dawn - Baghdad from November 2010 to December 2011. Operation Iraqi Freedom – Tikrit from August 2005 to July 2006. Operation Iraqi Freedom – Sadr City March 2003 to June 2003. Operation Joint Endeavor - Bosnia from July 1996 to November 1996. Operation Safe Passage – Panama from January 1995 to March 1995.
