In accordance with DOD and Army policy, and aligned with local health protection measures, Fort Hamilton transitioned to HPCON B effective 16 May 2022. This transition is in response to the Centers for Disease Control raising the Community Risk level in Kings County (Brooklyn) from 'low' to 'medium'. Effective Mar 3, 2022, personnel in Fort Hamilton garrison facilities are not required to wear masks. This action is in response to the Centers for Disease Control rating our community risk level as 'low'. New DoD and Army policy states that DoD installations in areas of 'low' risk may cease wearing masks indoors. If risk in our community increases, we may have to institute stricter measures.

Personnel who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or are exposed to someone who has COVID-19 should wear a mask around others in accordance with CDC guidance.

Tenant and mission partner organizations may continue to require mask wear in their facilities.
