The Fort Hamilton Public Affairs Office is the voice and face of Fort Hamilton, the only active duty installation in New York City. PAO fullfills the Army's obligation to keep the American people and the Army Family informed, and helps to establish the conditions that lead to confidence in America's Army. We are dedicated to keeping you informed about ongoing Fort Hamilton activities, events, and issues.
The Community Relations Division communicates Soldiers' stories by directly engaging a wide spectrum of businesses, organizations, and local community and education leaders to bring the American people closer to the Soldiers who serve them.
Fort Hamilton works closely with resident units to fulfill community requests.
- Community Requests - Request a guest speaker, marching unit, honor guard, military equipment display, or military band. Requests should be submitted using DD Form 2536 via email, fax or mail. Most requests require a legal review and direct coordination with units - please submit requests at least 60 days prior to your event.
Command Information assists the commander in keeping the command's internal audience informed of events and policies while providing timely, accurate, truthful, two-way communication between the commander and the command's internal audiences. An avenue to tell the Soldier's story and to stay informed of command events.
All news media representatives who wish to enter Fort Hamilton on official business and/or to cover events must first coordinate with and request permission through the Public Affairs Office. News media also must be escorted by a member of the Public Affairs Office. Due to the limited number of public affairs staff to provide escort, media are asked to make their requests as far in advance as possible. Please email us an inquiry with questions or to be added to the FH PAO distribution list for media advisories and news releases.
Fort Hamilton keeps the community informed with current events and information through several social media platforms.
