Mr. Hugh Hardin

Mr. Hugh Hardin received his baccalaureate in Systems Engineering, and commission as an Armor officer, from the United States Military Academy in 1991.  While on active duty he served as a tank platoon leader and tank company executive officer in 2-69 Armor, and adjutant of 1-11 Infantry at Fort Benning, Georgia; battalion S-4 of 1-63 Armor in Vilseck, Germany, which included time as the logistics officer for Task Force 1-63 Armor in Operation Able Sentry VII, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia; tank company commander of Delta and later Charlie Companies, 1-63 Armor; and Chief of the Heavy Axis Experiments Division in the Combat Service Support Battle Lab at Fort Lee, Virginia.  After leaving the Army, Mr. Hardin gained broad civilian experience having worked in brand management at Procter & Gamble, sales management at Best Buy, and as a financial advisor at American Express Financial Advisors.

Mr. Hardin rejoined the Army as a DA Civilian as a supply specialist in US Army Garrison, Grafenwoehr.  After serving in a variety of staff positions, he was selected to become the Deputy to the Garrison Commander in US Army Garrison, Natick in December 2008; and later the Deputy to the Garrison Commander of US Army Garrison Presidio of Monterey in April 2015.  Mr. Hardin assumed his current duties as the Deputy to the Garrison Commander of US Army Garrison Fort Gordon in October 2019.

Mr. Hardin’s significant military training includes the Armor Officer Basic Course, Infantry Officer Advanced Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and Airborne Course; his civilian professional development includes the Leadership for a Democratic Society program at the Federal Executive Institute, the Senior Executive Institute program at the University of Virginia, the Senior Manager Course in National Security Leadership at George Washington University, and relevant courses from the Army Management Staff College and Defense Acquisition University.  He has been awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, Commander’s Award for Civilian Service, Army Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, United Nations Medal, and Army Superior Unit Award throughout his career.
