Laura J. Hemming
Ms. Laura J. Hemming assumed duties as the Deputy Garrison Manager, U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria – Garmisch Community in March 2021. As the command’s on-site representative, she integrates all installation services and leads an exceptional team that providesvital support to Soldiers, civilians, their family members and retirees assigned to and living in the USAG Bavaria-Garmisch Community. Her oversight includes public works, human resources, base operations, emergency services, personnel readiness, and Family and MWR programs.
Ms. Hemming began her civilian service with the US Army Corps of Engineers in 2012 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She has worked for IMCOM since 2015 serving in various Directorate of Public Works roles to include Business Operations and Master Planning at Fort Bragg, NC and USAG Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. Prior to this assignment, Ms. Hemming served as the Chief of Master Planning & Real Property for IMCOM-Europe Headquarters where she was responsible
for planning and programming of facilities and infrastructure supporting the warfighter mission and community partners. Prior to beginning her federal service career, Ms. Hemming managed numerous roadway and underground infrastructure projects supporting local and city governments across the state of Indiana with a private consulting firm.
Ms. Hemming is a native of Michigan. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, Indiana and a Masters of Business Administration degree in Project Management from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Ms. Hemming is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina.
Ms. Hemming’s civilian awards include two Superior Civilian Service Awards, one Meritorious Civilian Service Award, one Commander’s Award for Civilian Service, two Achievement Medals for Civilian Service and the Army Engineer Association Bronze de Fleury Medal.
