Redstone Arsenal’s Army Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) office provides comprehensive alcohol and drug abuse prevention and treatment programs, and enforces policies and procedures for Soldiers of all components, Army civilians, family members, retirees and other personnel eligible for Army services. Drug testing for the installation is coordinated and managed through the Redstone ASAP. ASAP Substance Abuse Awareness, Substance Abuse Recognition and Intervention, Workplace Violence Prevention, Stress Management, Conflict Resolution, and Suicide Prevention are just some of the training programs that are available through ASAP.
Our mission is to ensure enrollment in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), and provide Common Access Cards (CAC) and/or Official Identification Cards to Soldiers, Family members, Retirees as well as Civilian and Contract Employees working on Redstone Arsenal.
Redstone Arsenal’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is one of the components of the Army Substance Abuse Program. However, the EAP assists employees, family members and family members of active duty military to resolve all types of “problems in living.” The issues addressed need not be substance abuse or workplace related. Stress, anxiety, conflict, relationship, parent-child, financial, and all types of personal and workplace issues can be addressed. Information and communication between an employee and the EAP is strictly confidential under federal law and Army Regulation 600-85. An employee or family member does not have to be referred to the EAP. Just call for a confidential appointment.
Fox Army Health Center (FAHC) provides access to quality and cost-effective primary care for patients while maintaining a state of readiness for mobilization. The mission of the health center is to “provide ready and sustained health service support in order to ensure responsible and reliable healthcare to sustain a medically ready force in support of Army Medicine and Federal Center of Excellence (FCoE) global mission .” It is striving to become the premier model of organizational and beneficiary wellness through the Army’s medical community. FAHC’s Patient Centered Medical Home is comprised of three teams, Blue Team, Red Team and White Team. The mission of the FAHC Blue Team is to optimize the health, well-being, and medical readiness of Soldiers. They accomplish this through our dedicated approach to Warfighter Medicine, and provide physical exams, medical readiness and deployment screenings in support of the military’s wartime mission. The Red & White Team provides comprehensive medical care to the beneficiaries of FAHC, and offers a range of services including adult and family medicine as well as pediatrics and minor outpatient procedures. All TRICARE Prime patients enrolled to FAHC and assigned to this clinic will have a Primary Care Manager (PCM). TRICARE Prime patients will coordinate specialty care through their PCM, thereby ensuring continuity, timeliness and appropriateness of referrals. The Advice Nurse system is available after normal business hours. In addition to an extremely busy outpatient pharmacy service, FAHC provides laboratory and radiological service. The Behavioral Health Division provides mental health treatment. The AMC and Redstone Arsenal Inspector General (IG) extend the eyes, ears, voice and conscience of the Commander. The IG is fair and impartial; anyone can talk to the IG. The IG team is the objective fact-finder for the Commander, and will accept anonymous and confidential complaints. Assistance is provided to all Soldiers, family members, civilians and other personnel requesting assistance in matters of interest to AMC and Redstone Arsenal. Occasionally, requests for assistance will contain allegations, which may cause the IG to open an informal inquiry, formal investigation, or advise the command to initiate an inquiry or investigation. Conclusions are reached based on a preponderance of credible evidence. Any inspection or investigation conducted by an IG or IG team is considered an IG record, and cannot be used as the basis for adverse action against any individual without the written approval of the Inspector General of the Army. IG records will not be converted for personal use.
The Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command, Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, provides claims, legal assistance and military justice services for Redstone Arsenal. Persons eligible to receive legal assistance are: active-duty service members (and their dependents), retirees (and dependents), and Reserve and National Guard retirees who are receiving military retirement or disability pay (and their dependents). During tax season, the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate operates the Redstone Tax Assistance Center located at Building 3489 on Ajax Road. This free service helps service members on active duty and military retirees and their dependents prepare and file federal and state tax returns. The Religious Support Office provides religious services for Soldiers, DA civilians, military retirees, families, and all others with authorized access to Redstone Arsenal. Worship services, educational opportunities and pastoral care are available at Bicentennial Chapel located on Goss Road. The Arsenal’s chapel offers a full range of Protestant religious programs, as well as active youth programs, music programs, religious education classes and more. The entrance into the chapel features stained glass depicting Gen. George Washington with his Soldiers at Valley Forge. The entrance to the sanctuary has the overhead view of the Greek letters of the Alpha and Omega. Fourteen stained glass windows dedicated in July 1992 line the sanctuary and commemorate the 13 original states, while additional windows commemorate high points of U.S. history. The Redstone Arsenal Retirement Services Office mission is to assist Soldiers and his/her Family prepare to transition to civilian life in order to make that move as smooth as possible and to provide information and advice on pay, benefits, and entitlements. We also provide post-retirement services on numerous retirement related issues to retired Soldiers and their Families, in addition to assisting survivors of Soldiers who die on active duty to maximize their survivor benefits.
The Garrison Safety Office’s mission is to support the execution of the Garrison Commander’s Annual Safety Plan and Department of the Army policies, responsibilities, and procedures to safeguard and preserve Army resources including service members, their families, civilian employees and Army property against accidental loss. Establish Risk Management as USAG Redstone’s principal risk reduction methodology and ensure safety and occupational health regulatory and statutory compliance.
