Welcome to our team!
Allow us to extend a personal welcome to you and your Family as you join our team at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) and Fort Polk. We take great pride in the sacrifice and service of each Soldier, Department of the Army (DA) Civilian and Family members.
Since 1941, Fort Polk has served as a cornerstone for training troops to support and defend the Constitution, and today, we have emerged as the Army’s premier combat training center with world-class training facilities and unique training opportunities. We are proud of the large contributions that Fort Polk makes to our great nation. The Soldiers and DA Civilians that make up the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk team are fortunate to participate in some of the most realistic and effective training scenarios throughout the U.S. armed forces, and the command is prepared to meet the various types of missions expected in today’s Army.
Fort Polk is a world-class installation with multiple missions. Regardless of which unit you may be assigned to, you can be assured that you will make a significant and immediate contribution to your formation, your service, your country and the mission. This will be one of the most rewarding and professionally satisfying assignments in your career.
This is a great installation to serve at and raise a Family. As part of Team Polk, you and your Family can expect to enjoy quality housing, schools, day-care centers, recreation areas, and physical fitness centers.
Congratulations on your assignment to Fort Polk. We look forward to serving with you to accomplish our mission. JRTC and Fort Polk is critical for Army units to build readiness. During your assignment here, you must also build readiness in yourself as a professional, and resiliency within your Army Family.
