The Public Affairs Office supports Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk by communicating on behalf of the installation and its leadership - providing clear, accurate, timely information to internal & external audiences. We employ a variety of communication strategies- including internal news and information products, media engagement, and public outreach.
The Command Information section provides news and information to members of the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk community, by producing an array of command information products for our internal audiences to include the Fort Polk Guardian, website and social media sites. The Media Relations section assists members of the news media in reporting on Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, ensuring the American public has access to the information they need to understand the military's role in the community, in support of the nation, and in the world. Community Relations programs support and sustain relationships between service members and leaders of the Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort with neighboring civilian communities and their local, state and federal representatives. The JRTC and Fort Polk work closely with resident units, including 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division; the 115th Combat Support Hospital; the 1st Battalion, 5TH Aviation Regiment; Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital; the 46th Engineer Battalion; and the 519th Military Police Battalion, to fulfill community requests.
