Deputy Garrison Commander, USAG Fort Polk
My name is Johnny Bevers and I am your deputy garrison commander here at Fort Polk. I support the garrison commander and the senior commander in making sure our installation is the best place in the Army to work, live and play.
The garrison commander and I are responsible for everything from child care to facility maintenance. Our mission is to make your life as good as we can so you can focus on your day-to-day job. To that end, we are laser-focused on Fort Polk’s infrastructure, military family housing and all aspects of life in the military. We read every single ICE comment that you submit and hold the garrison staff accountable to our customers. We have more than 800 employees whose sole mission is to support you.
We’re currently working with our housing partner (Corvias) to ensure your on-post quarters represent the quality that you deserve as members of our great Army. The command teams and civilian volunteers recently inspected 3,661 military family homes resulting in more than 1,000 work orders being submitted to Corvias. During the process, we heard some concerns about potential reprisal for submitting work orders for the repair of housing. If any of you feel that you have been the subject of such reprisal, please contact me directly at 531-1601. This should never happen to our military members.
We are also working on a number of different initiatives around the installation and encourage you to submit your ideas through ICE or by sending an email directly to me at johnny.d.bevers.civ@mail.mil. I’d also like you and your family member to download our Fort Polk App at either the Google or Apple App stores. It’s free to download and is packed with an incredible amount of useful information. We will be making a series of announcements through the app and have integrated multiple ways for you to send us concerns that you have about the installation. I will be publishing regular updates about the installation in the Guardian to keep you up to date on our programs and look forward to hearing from you.
