Acting Director of IMCOM Directorate Transformation and Training visits WSMR

Katheryn E. McNeely, acting Director, IMCOM Directorate Transformation and Training was back at White Sands Missile Range March 10 for a visit.

McNeely, a former Deputy Garrison Commander at WSMR, said the purpose of the visit was to establish contact and build rapport. ID-T2 Command Sgt. Maj. Sebastian A. Camacho accompanied McNeely on the visit.

The United States Army Installation Management Command has undergone a significant transformation to enhance its capabilities and adapt to the evolving needs of the Army. This transformation includes the integration of ID-Transformation and Training as part of IMCOM's broader strategy to improve the quality of life for Soldiers, Families, and Civilians while supporting Army readiness.

McNeely said being back at WSMR feels like being home.

“It is a beautiful installation. We’ve always had a good team here and it is good to see that has continued.”

She said several ATEC installations now fall under the ID-T2 Command to include WSMR, Yuma Proving Ground and Dugway Proving Ground.

“We are here to welcome our gaining installations into the ID-T2 family and making sure we listen to their issues and challenges so we can position ourselves to be able to advocate for them,” McNeely said.

During her visit McNeely met with WSMR leaders and toured several of the Garrison facilities to include Outdoor Recreation, the WSMR Museum, and the Environmental Office.

WSMR Garrison Commander Col. Don Mozer said WSMR recently transitioned to ID-T2.

“It is good to have the acting director of ID-T2 visit WSMR so she can understand some of our challenges and for guidance as we transition,” Mozer said.

Leidia Duran, Director of Human Resources Directorate, said McNeely’s visit confirms that WSMR is now a part of ID-T2.

She said McNeely and Camacho are here to learn more about WSMR.

“The visit gives them a better idea of what WSMR is now versus what it was when she was here as the Deputy Garrison Commander,” Duran said.

Richard Anderson, Director of Emergency Services Directorate, said the visit gives them an opportunity to meet with senior leadership and voice any concerns face to face.

“It is always refreshing when they come to visit. I think it can be very productive,” Anderson said.

McNeely also presented coins to WSMR employees in recognition of outstanding work.

Receiving coins were Kristopher Brown with Plans Analyses and Integration Organization, Ricky Parra with Physical Security, Martin Venegas on behalf of Stallion O&M, Directorate of Public Works, Reina Marques with Child and Youth Services, and Patrick Ehrenfeld with Plans Analyses and Integration Organization.
