Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jared DeLaney, Commander and Bandmaster

Chief Warrant Officer 4 Jared J. DeLaney was born in Fort Dix, New Jersey, and was raised in Ft. Worth, Texas. In 1992 and 1995, he enlisted and was commissioned in the United States Army Reserves respectively. In 2004, he enlisted in the Regular Army and in 2009, was appointed a Warrant Officer.

CW4 DeLaney's current assignment is Commander and Bandmaster, 399th Army Band at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. His previous assignments as an officer include Chief - Doctrine, Lessons Learned, Capabilities, Integration, Training Management, and Instructor, Captain Career Course, Basic Officer Leadership Course, Warrant Officer Advanced Course, Warrant Officer Basic Course, and Advanced Individual Training for the U.S. Army School of Music at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Virginia. Commander and Bandmaster: 323d Army Band at Fort Sam Houston, Texas; 3ID Army Band at Fort Stewart, Georgia (OEF & OFS); 8th Army Band at U.S. Army Garrison Yongsan, Republic of Korea; and 399th Army Band at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; and Company Commander, Detachment Commander, Executive Officer, and Platoon Leader, 428th Transportation Company (Light/Medium), at Jefferson City, Missouri.

CW4 DeLaney's enlisted career includes various assignments at the 77th Army Band at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the 25th ID Band at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii (OIF-3), and Radio Repairer in a United States Army Reserve maintenance company in Fort Worth, Texas.

As an instrumentalist at the 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks from 2005 – 2008, he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. During this deployment, he was assigned as the Battle NCO for the Base Defense Operation Center at Contingency Operating Base Speicher.

In 1999, DeLaney served a full-time two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After returning from his missionary work he taught 6th grade – 12th grade bands at Salisbury R-IV School District in Salisbury, Missouri.

During his military career, DeLaney has been a team leader, squad leader, platoon leader, executive officer, detachment commander, company commander, and bandmaster and is a graduate of the Bandmaster Warrant Officer Basic/Advanced, Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Education, and the Transportation Officer Basic Courses. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Central Methodist College, Fayette, Missouri, and an Associate of Arts degree from Kemper Military Junior College, Boonville, Missouri.

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation (with 2 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (with 2 Bronze Service Stars), Iraq Campaign Medal (with 1 Bronze Service Star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal (with 3 Bronze Service Stars), NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (with Numeral 3 device), NATO Medal (with 2 Bronze Service Stars).

1st Sgt. Jennifer Champagne, 399th Army Band 1st Sergeant

First Sergeant Jennifer N. Champagne was born 19 July 1982 in Nacogdoches, TX. After being raised in Houston, TX she then returned to Nacogdoches to attend Stephen F. Austin University focusing on Music Education. While attending college, 1SG Champagne met her husband David Champagne and they were married in July 2005. They joined the Army Band together in August 2005.

1SG Champagne joined the Army as a 42R Army Musician, Bassoon player, and transitioned to Army Vocalist in 2009. She attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, SC and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at the United States Army School of Music (USASOM) in Virginia Beach, VA. Duty assignments include 98th Army Band- Fort Rucker, AL; 1st Corps Band- Fort Lewis, WA; 1st Infantry Division Band- Fort Riley, KS (2 tours); USASOM AIT Platoon Sergeant, Virginia Beach, VA; and currently First Sergeant for the 399th Army Band- Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

1SG Champagne has deployed overseas to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Poland. Military Education includes Master Resilience Trainer, Equal Opportunity Leader, Training Developer, Army Instructor, and AIT Platoon Sergeant courses.

1SG Champagne has been married to SFC Champagne for almost 19 years, and they are devoted pet parents to Bronson (Chihuahua) and Poofs (Torti cat). Hobbies include plants and various fiber crafts, sewing, knitting, embroidery, etc.
