Warrant Officer 1 Brian Dorgan, Commander and Bandmaster

WO1 Dorgan entered the Army in 2009 and completed basic training at Fort Jackson, SC. He then attended Advanced Individual Training at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek – Fort Story in Norfolk, Virginia and was certified as an Army Musician on trombone. His assignments include the 113th Army Band, Fort Knox, KY, The United States Army Training and Doctrine Command Band, Fort Eustis, VA, the 1st Armored Division Band, El Paso, TX, where he deployed to Iraq in 2017 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, and America’s First Corps Band, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. In 2020, he was selected to become an Army Bandmaster. Mr. Dorgan, a native of Massachusetts, has his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in trombone performance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. 

WO1 Dorgan’s military education includes the Warrant Officer Basic Course, Warrant Officer Candidate School, the Army Musician Senior Leaders Course, the Army Musician Advanced Leaders Course, the Basic Leaders Course.  His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (6),  the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (6), the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Army Superior Unit Award (2), the Army Good Conduct Medal (3), the National Defense Service Medal, the Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3), the Army Service Ribbon,  and the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency in Gold.

1st Sgt. Byron Bartosh, 399th Army Band 1st Sergeant

1SG Byron Bartosh originally entered military service in 2000 as a USMC Musician.  He most recently served as the Deputy Commandant for the U.S. Army School of Music Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek - Fort Story (JEBLC-FS). His previous assignments include the 9th Army "Arctic Warrior" Band, 1st Recruiting Brigade Band, 1st Cavalry Division Band, Army Ground Forces Band, the 38th Infantry Division "Cyclone" Band, Marine Corps Band - Quantico, and the Marine Forces Pacific Band. He also deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

His military education includes the Commandant Pre-Command Course; Common Faculty Development - Developers Course, the Common Faculty Development - Instructor Course, Cadre Training Course; Master Resiliency Training Course, Senior Leader Course, Army Recruiter Course, Advanced Leader Course, Equal Opportunity Course, Retention Course, Basic Leader Course, Marine Corps Combat Training (School of Infantry), and Marine Corps Basic Training. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Orchestral Performance in Trumpet from Indiana University.  He is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership at Regent University.
