USAG Fort Walker commander Lt. Col. Michael E. Gates called on everyone to remember those who fell in New York City, at the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pennsylvania as well as the 469 firefighters, law enforcement personnel and service members lost on that day.
Gates also asked that we remember the service members who have died in combat since 9/11 and honor their memory by caring for those wounded in action in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Following a moment of silence, Sgt. 1st Class Jason E. Sanders of The U.S. Army Band played a moving rendition of "Taps."
