We provide excellent customer service through a safe, realistic, and well maintained training environment for all ranges and training facilities on Fort A.P. Hill; always putting the needs of the Warrior at the forefront of all we do. Schedule, manage, and control the use of Fort A.P. Hill Ranges and Training Areas, in accordance with AR 385-63, Range Safety, and Fort A.P. Hill Regulation 350-40, Range Operations.

The Fire Desk is where you sign for the ranges, facilities and training areas. You also receive any needed equipment required by Range Operations to safely conduct your training.

 
Range Scheduling

Soldiers, Civilian and Contractors must submit requests for any range, facility or training area through the Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) for approval by the Range Scheduler. The Range Scheduler manages all training area and de-conflicts dual use to any area. All trouble tickets for system outages must be submitted through the Scheduler for processing.

Range Certification

Soldiers and DA Civilians signing for any range, facility or training area on Fort A.P. Hill must complete the range certification course.

Information pertaining to the safety briefing, and all requirements can be found in Fort A.P. Hill’s Range Facility Management Support System (RFMSS) Library. Request for seating reservation deadline is every Thursday by 12:30 p.m., the day prior to the briefing.

Courses are offered every Friday at 11:00 a.m., in classroom 106 at the Training Support Center on North Range Road. This course informs you of the requirements and responsibilities for the Officer in Charge and Range Safety Officer. This training is valid for one year on Fort A.P. Hill ranges.

 
Ammunition Manager

Soldiers, Civilian and Contractors must submit ammunition request in Total Ammunition Management Information System for any ammunition requirement. They must attend a three day course to gain access to the system. The request must be submitted by the requester, approve by someone other than themselves before it can be validated by the Ammo Manager. All ammunition request will be submitted electronically.

Unexploded Ordinance (UXO)

Unexploded ordinance is located throughout the training areas of Fort A.P. Hill. Do not handle any unexploded ordnance, mark the location and contact Range Operations at 633-8224 or the Garrison Police at 633-8888. We ask that you be available should the Range Safety staff have addition questions.
