Translation is NOT a routine service provided by the Legal Assistance Office. PLEASE NOTE: The Stuttgart Law Center CANNOT provide sworn / certified translations of documents. Sworn / certified translations can only be provided by duly sworn and court appointed translators.
Non-sworn/ certified translations are done on a TIME-AVAILABLE BASIS and must be delivered in person and dropped off. The following is a list of documents that the Stuttgart Law Center can translate:
English ˂˃ German Translations: Birth Certificates, Marriage Certificates, Death Certificates, Driver's Licenses, German Marksmanship Awards.
English ˂˃ French Translations: Upon request.

You can find sworn translators by using the online database for translators and interpreters of the BDÜ (Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators), offering more than 7,500 professional linguists for more than 80 languages: https://search.bdue.de/ (select search option ‘sworn translator’).
If you need a translation of any other German document you may go to ACS, Military One Source , or use the links provided for language service providers in the Stuttgart area.
