3rd ID welcomes new senior enlisted advisor

Command Sgt. Maj. Quentin Fenderson assumed responsibility as the 3rd Infantry Division senior enlisted advisor, in a ceremony Sept. 23 at Marne Garden on Fort Stewart.
Fenderson replaces Command Sgt. Maj. Michael Coffey who relinquished responsibility in early August before assuming responsibility as the senior enlisted advisor at the U.S. Military
Academy at West Point, New York.
Fenderson previously served 12 years in the 3rd ID, having deployed four times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom: OIF I and III, as a platoon sergeant and battalion master gunner assigned to 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment and OIF V and VII, the latter, as a company first sergeant in 2nd Battalion, 69th Armored Regiment.
Fenderson previously he served as a recruiter and station commander assigned to New York City Recruiting Battalion; assistant inspector general at Forces Command, battalion operations sergeant major, and then brigade operations sergeant major, assigned to 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany; command sergeant major of 1st Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment; and command sergeant major of 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.
Fenderson was born in Alabama, is married and the father of three daughters.
