1st Infantry Division Chief of Staff: Colonel Kevin J. Lambert

Colonel Kevin J. Lambert was commissioned as an Infantry officer through ROTC at North Georgia College in 1993. He started his career serving as a Rifle Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY. Prior to attending the Infantry Captain’s Career Course, Colonel Lambert moved to Fort Benning, GA and served as a Ranger Platoon Leader and Battalion Civil Affairs Officer in 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment.

Following the Infantry Captain’s Career Course, Colonel Lambert served as an assistant operations officer and Rifle Company Commander in the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, NC. After company command, Colonel Lambert served as an instructor and Aide-de-Camp at the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.

Following completion of the Command and General Staff College, Colonel Lambert served as the Operations Officer for 2nd Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment and 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, WA. From 2009-2010, he served as an Observer/Coach-Trainer (OC/T) at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, LA.

Colonel Lambert was selected to command 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, Fort Riley, KS. Following battalion command, he served in the Pentagon as an operations officer and the Executive Officer to the Director for Operations, Joint Staff.

In June 2016 Colonel Lambert became the Commander, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team at Fort Wainwright, Alaska. In June 2018, he became the 22nd Program Manager for the Office of the Program Manager, Saudi Arabian National Guard.

Colonel Lambert is a graduate of the United States Army War College. His operational deployments include Haiti, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan. His awards include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, and Master Parachutist Badge.
