The Fort Polk Better Opportunities for Single Servicemembers Program (BOSS) mission is to provide all the Single Servicemembers, regardless of Military Branch, the Quality of Life they deserve! It could be issues with their living quarters or just getting out and meeting new people. We also provide another avenue to complete community service.
It assists single Servicemembers in identifying and planning recreational and leisure activities that are offered in a safe and exciting environment. It provides an opportunity for single Servicemembers to participate and contribute to their respective communities and gives the individual a sense of responsibility and involvement.

Higher-Education Opportunities
All Soldiers, Family Members, Veterans, Retirees, and Civilian employees at Fort Polk are encouraged to visit the Education Center to learn about educational opportunities and services available on post.
At the Education Center, counseling services cover a wide array of self-development opportunities, both in-classroom and online learning. The programs and services available may vary depending on the goals and needs of the client. Education Counselors can also provide assistance with college enrollment, scholarships searches, applying for VA Education Benefits, and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The Education Center has four colleges on-post with a variety of programs.

Fort Polk recreation falls under Fort Polk's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation directorate. They are committed to providing top notch services and events for Fort Polk and the surrounding community. Fort Polk Sports and Fitness also falls under Fort Polk's Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation. They are honored to provide Servicemembers and their families with multiple types of sports and fitness centers. Some things they offer include fitness programs, group fitness classes, gyms, running trails and tracks, and varied sports.

Fort Polk has a variety of places to dine. In the Exchange you can choose to eat at Panda Express, Subway, Boston Market, Qdobo, Starbucks and Charlie's Grilled Subs. The post has a Burger King on Louisiana Ave, as well as a Huddle House, Hickory Smoke House and Mulligans Restaurant Bar and Grill.

IHG Army Hotels provides lodging facilities on post and make every effort to ensure that your stay is both comfortable and enjoyable. Whether you are completing your tour of duty at Fort Polk, have just arrived, or are on vacation, we are delighted to have you visit with us. Lodging facilities are open to military personnel (all ranks/grades), their family members and guests, and retired military and their guests. Advance reservations are permitted by all ranks on leave or official duty.
