The US Army Garrison – Picatinny Arsenal stood up a new Directorate of Operations in October 2019. This organization combines what was formerly the Directorate of Emergency Services and the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. All functions of the two former organizations will fall under the Directorate of Operations.
The Directorate of Operations is the office of primary responsibility for coordination of Garrison operations and direct support of Installation Protection, Mission Assurance, Antiterrorism, and Emergency Management to include First Responders activities.
The Plans and Operations Division is the principal advisor and technical expert regarding all Garrison Operations and Installation Protection, Mission Assurance, Antiterrorism, and Emergency Management activities.
The Protection Division plans, directs, and provides law and order, access control, and physical security operations in support of the installation.
The Fire Protection and Prevention Division plans, directs, and provides fire prevention services and all hazards emergency response to include emergency medical response for the installation.
