Command Sgt. Maj. Tahir N. Hasan, 1st Aviation Brigade

Command Sgt. Maj. Tahir N. Hasan is a Native of Los Angeles, California born to Farid and Doris Hasan and is the middle child of five siblings. He enlisted in the Army in August 1997 as a 15P, Aviation Operations Specialist. He attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and advanced individual training at Fort Novosel, Alabama.

CSM Hasan has served as a Flight Operations NCO, Operations Sergeant, Senior Aviation Operations Sergeant, Observer, Coach/Trainer, First Sergeant, Brigade Operations Chief, Division G3 Operations Chief, and Battalion Command Sergeant Major.

His state-side assignments include Fort Novosel, Alabama, Fort Irwin, California, Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Carson, Colorado, Fort Polk, Louisiana, Fort Campbell, Kentucky Fort Bliss, Texas and Joint Base Lewis McChord, Washington. His overseas assignments include Katterbach, Germany, Fort Wainwright, Alaska and Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea, Joint Base Lewis-McChord. He has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan in support of combat operations.

CSM Hasan has attended the the Basic Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course and the Sergeant Major Academy. He also attended the UAS Operator and Trainers Course, Observer Coach/Trainers Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, the Joint Fire Power Course, the Joint Airspace Operations Command and Control Course and the Basic Anti-Terrorism Course. Enrolled in the Leadership and Workforce Development bachelor’s degree program.

CSM Hasan’s awards and decorations include Bronze Star (2nd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (6th Award), Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), Master Aviation Badge, Combat Action Badge, Air Assault Badge, Parachutists Badge, German Jump Wings, and the Order of St. Michaels Medal (Bronze).

CSM Hasan resides in Fort Novosel, AL with his wife Jamie and his twin daughters Jayla and Nayla.
