Command Sgt. Maj. Susie S. Nu'uvali , 128th Aviation Brigade

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Susie S. Nu'uvali comes from the island of Tutuila, American Samoa. She enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18 in July of 2000 as a 15N Avionics Mechanic. 

She attended Basic Combat Training Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis, Virginia.

CSM Nu’uvali currently serves as the 128th Aviation Brigade CSM in Fort Eustis, VA. She was previously the 2-1 General Support Aviation Battalion CSM in Fort Riley, KS. She served as the Aviation Material Management Center Sergeant Major with the Army Special Operations Aviation Command and the 160th Special Operation Aviation Regiment in Fort Campbell, KY. She has served as an Air Crew Member, Section Sergeant, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, BCT Drill Sergeant, AIT Instructor, Senior Small Group Leader at the Aviation Logistics NCO Academy, First Sergeant, Camp Commandant, and Special Mission Wing Afghanistan Force Protection Advisor. She also served in appointed duty positions including Equal Opportunity Leader, Field Sanitation NCO, Unit Prevention Leader, Master Resilience Trainer, Sexual Harassment Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Victim Advocate, and Color Guard NCOIC.

Her stateside assignments include Fort Riley, KS, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA, Fort Jackson, SC, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, VA, Fort Bliss, TX, and Fort Campbell, KY. Her overseas assignments include Korea and Germany. She deployed in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve 2017 and 2024 to Germany, Romania, Estonia, Latvia and Finland. CSM Nu'uvali successfully completed two deployments to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel, and Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Shield.

CSM Nu'uvali is a graduate of the Sergeants Major Academy Class 71. She is also a graduate of the Brigade and Battalion Pre-Command Course. Her military education includes the Avionics Mechanic

Course, the Primary Leader Development Course, the Advanced Leader's Course, the Senior Leader's Course, Drill Sergeant School, Small Group Leader's Course, Common Faculty Development Instructor Course, the SHARP Victim Advocate Course, the Army Equal Opportunity Leader Course, Unit Prevention Leader's Course, Field Sanitation Course, Combative Level I/II Course, and the Command Leadership Course.  

CSM Nu'uvali is a graduate of Class 2000 from Faga'itua High School in American Samoa. She has a bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Workforce Development.

A few of CSM Nu’uvali’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (7th award), the Army Commendation Medal (7th award), the Army Achievement Medal (15th award), Meritorious Unit Citation (2nd award), Army Unit Superior Award, Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medals, the Master Aviation Badge, the Senior Aviation Badge, the Basic Aviation Badge, the Basic Army Instructor Badge, the Drill Sergeant Badge, the Driver's Badge and the Nijmegen Cross for the Four Day Marches Foreign Award. She is also a recipient of the Army Aviation Order of Saint Michael Award.
