Col. Dennis K. Hill, Commander, 110th Aviation Brigade
Colonel Keith Hill is a distinguished military graduate from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in Army Aviation in 2001. In March 2003, he graduated from the Aviation Officer Basic Course and the OH-58D AQC at Fort Novosel, Alabama.
Col. Hill began his career as an aero-scout Platoon Leader with 1-4 Cavalry, 1st ID, Schweinfurt, Germany, where he deployed with the Squadron in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II. After attending the Aviation Captains Career Course in 2006, Col. Hill received an MH-47 transition and served the next 10 years at Ft. Campbell, KY in 2nd Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Abn). During his tenure with the 160th SOAR (Abn), Col. Hill held the positions of Platoon Leader, HHC Commander, Battalion OPSO, Flight Company Commander, Battalion S3 and Battalion XO. COL Hill deployed on numerous combat tours, contingency missions, and overseas training exercises in support of the joint special operations community. In 2016, Col. Hill was assigned to the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command at Ft. Bragg, NC where he first served as the G3 Training Officer, and then as the G8 Director. Col. Hill assumed command of the 1st Battalion, 223rd Aviation Regiment, at Ft. Novosel, AL in June 2019. After battalion command, Col. Hill was appointed as the Director of Evaluation and Standards (DES) for AVCOE. In 2022, Col. Hill attended the Air Force War College at Maxwell AFB, AL.
Col. Hill’s education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Business-Finance from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, a Master’s Degree in Business Management & Leadership from Webster University, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Securities Studies from the US Air Force War College.
Col. Hill is regimentally affiliated with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Abn), and his awards and decorations include: the Soldier’s Medal, the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Air Medal (Numeral 4), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Meritorious Unit Award, Presidential Unit Commendation Award, Valorous Unit Award (2 OLC), Army Meritorious Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Master Aviator Badge, Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge.
