Command Sgt. Maj. Ramon L. Cases Torres, 1st Battalion, 11th Aviation Regiment

Command Sgt. Maj. Ramon L. Cases Torres is native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 2000 as a 15P flight operations specialist. He attended language training at the Defense Language Institute, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and advance individual training at Fort Rucker, Alabama.

Cases Torres has served in every leadership position from section sergeant to command sergeant major. His stateside assignments include 1/17 Cavalry Regiment, 82nd ABN DIV, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, United States Army Priority Air Transport Command, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland and 1st Battalion, 58th Aviation Regiment, Fort Rucker. His overseas assignments include United States Army Priority Air Transport Detachment, Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii; 2/14 Cavalry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division, Hawaii; United States Army Garrison, Hawaii; and Defense Attaché Office in the United States Embassy Bogota, Colombia. He is currently serving as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major for 1st Battalion, 11th Aviation Regiment. He has deployed to Iraq, Qatar and the Horn of Africa.

Cases Torres’ military education includes the Basic Leader Course; Advance Leader Course, where he graduated as Distinguished Honor Graduate; Senior Leader Course, where he graduated as Distinguished Honor Graduate; First Sergeant Course; Defense Attaché Staff Operations Course; Joint Firepower Course; Environmental Compliance Officer; Contracting Officer Course; Unit Prevention Leaders Course; Combat LifeSaver Course; Instructor Course; and is a graduate of the Sergeants Major Residence Course. His civilian education includes the FAA Flight Dispatcher license, and a bachelor’s degree in leadership and workforce development from the Army Command and General Staff College.

Cases Torres’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (5th Award), Overseas Service Ribbon (3rd Award), Combat Action Badge, Master Aviation Badge, Basic Airborne Wings, German Jump Wings, and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge.
