Maj. Barbara Wegiel, U.S. Army Dental Clinic Command

Major Barbara Wegiel was born in Jaslo, Poland and moved to United States in 2001. She completed her undergraduate studies at Roosevelt University in Chicago in 2010. In 2016, she earned a DMD degree from Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine – IL. She was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship and commissioned as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corps upon graduation.

Maj. Wegiel’s military education includes the AMEDD Officer Basic Course and the Command and General Staff College. She completed the Army 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at Ft. Jackson, SC in 2017 and an Endodontic Residency at Ft. Liberty, NC in 2021. She is a member of American Association of Endodontists and holds a board certification from American Board of Endodontics.

Her previous assignments include: Ft. Jackson, SC; Ft. Johnson, LA; Ft. Liberty, NC; Ft. Wainwright, AK.

Maj. Wegiel’s awards and decorations include: Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Medal and Armed Forces Service Medal.

Maj. Wegiel has been married to her husband Greg for 15 years. They have two rescue dogs: mini Australian Shepherd named Milo and Alaskan Husky named Foxy.
