Lt. Col. Leah M. Steder, Lyster Army Health Clinic

LTC Leah M. Steder hails from Grand Lake, Colorado. She received her commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps in August 2006 from the Colorado State Army ROTC program.

She holds Bachelor of Science degree in Spanish Education with a Minor in Sociology from the University of Northern Colorado, and a Master of Science in Health Information Technology and Management from the University of Pittsburgh.  She earned her registered health information administration certification (RHIA) and is currently working towards her professional certification in emergency management.

LTC Steder is coming from NORAD and Northern Command where she served as a Joint Regional Medical Plans Officer in Support of FEMA regions 5, 6 and 7. Her other previous assignments include Platoon Leader and Executive Officer, 563rd Aviation Support Battalion, Fort Campbell Kentucky (FTCKY), Brigade Medical Operations Officer, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade, FTCKY, Chief Patient Administration, Basset Army Community Hospital, Fort Wainwright Alaska, Commander 602nd Area Support Medical Company, 261st Multifunctional Medical Battalion (MMB), Fort Liberty North Carolina (FLNC), Brigade Medical Regulating Officer, 44th Medical Brigade, FLNC, Deputy Surgeon 1st Armored Division , Fort Bliss Texas, Deputy Surgeon, Combined Joint Forces Land Component Command, Baghdad Iraq, Chief of Patient Administration, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, FBTX, Executive Officer, 168th MMB, Daegu South Korea, S3 549th Hospital Center, Camp Humphreys South Korea.

LTC Steder deployed to various locations across Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (2008-2009) and Baghdad, Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve (2017-2018). She supported Operation Allies Welcome phase 1 and phase 2 (2021-2022) and activated in support of Hurricane Ida 2021.  

Her awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service award (1 OLC), the Meritorious Service Award (4 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Inherent Resolve Campaign, the Army Forces Service Medal, the Humanitarian Service Medal (1Bronze Star), the Army Overseas Service Ribbon, and the NATO service ribbon.  She is a member of Order of Military Medical Merit (O2M3).
