Col. Timothy A. Harloff, AMCOM Combined Logistics Command
Colonel Timothy Harloff is a native of Sebastian, Florida. He graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2002 and was commissioned as an Aviation Officer.
Upon completing the OH-58D(R) Qualification Course at Fort Novosel, Alabama, he served as a Platoon Leader and S-4 in 1-17 Cavalry Squadron, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Liberty, North Carolina deploying in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (DEC ’04 – OCT ’05). Upon redeployment, COL Harloff moved with the squadron to Fort Campbell, Kentucky where the unit reflagged to 7-17 Cavalry Squadron, 159th Combat Aviation Brigade. After completing the Aviation Captain’s Career Course, COL Harloff returned to Fort Campbell where he served as an Assistant Operations Officer and Commander for A Troop, 7-17 Cavalry Squadron, deploying to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (DEC ’08 – DEC ’09).
After command, COL Harloff returned to Fort Novosel serving as a Small Group Leader for the Aviation Captain’s Career Course and commanded B Company,
1-145 Aviation Battalion. Upon completion of the Army’s Command and General Staff Officer Course in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, COL Harloff returned to Fort Campbell and the 159th Combat Aviation Brigade serving as the Squadron Operations Officer for 7-17 Cavalry Squadron. As the 7-17 Cavalry Squadron deactivated, COL Harloff transferred to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade where he served as the Battalion Operations Officer for 5-101 Assault Battalion in Afghanistan in support of Operation Resolute Support (APR ’15 – JAN ’16).
Upon redeployment, COL Harloff served as the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade Operations Officer before being assigned to Fort Novosel as the Military Deputy for the TRADOC Capability Manager-Future Vertical Lift. Upon completion of the UH-60 A/L/M transition course, COL Harloff reported to Fort Liberty, North Carolina to assume command of the 122nd Aviation Support Battalion. After command, COL Harloff attended and graduated from the United States Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania.
In June 2022, COL Harloff reported to USAFRICOM where he served as the Joint Operations Center Director and the USAFRICOM J33 Current Operations Division Chief.
COL Harloff’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal for Valor, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War of Terrorism Service Medal, Master Army Aviator Badge, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
COL Harloff is married to the former Danielle Hanson of Enterprise, Alabama. They have one child, Christian, who is 18 years old.
