He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of North Dakota and received a commission as an aviation officer through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 2004. Command Sgt. Maj. Joseph B. Warren II was born in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from James Madison High School in San Antonio, Texas, and completed two years of collage at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).
