Command Sgt. Maj. Gary J. Williams

CSM Gary J. Williams hails from Montego Bay, Jamaica and joined the Army in January 1999 from Bronx, NY. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis, Virginia for MOS 15S10 (OH-58D Kiowa Warrior Repairer).

His assignments duty station includes Fort Drum, NY (x2), Wheeler Army Airfield, HI, Fort Campbell, KY, OPM-SANG Saudi Arabia, Fort Carson, CO, Fort Bliss, TX and MKAB/NSTA, Romania/Bulgaria. CSM Williams served three combat tours in Iraq (Camp Taji, COB Speicher and FOB Warrior), one Combat tour in Afghanistan (FOB Salerno) and two tours in the Balkans (Bosnia Herzegovina and Kosovo)

His military education includes the Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leadership Course, Senior Leaders Course, Air Assault Course, Aviation Life Support Equipment Course, Combat life Savior Course, Field Sanitation Course, Unit Preventive Leader Course, Master Resiliency Trainer Course, First Sergeant Course, Sergeant Major Course Class 69, Garrison Pre-Command Course, and the Battalion Pre-Command Course.

His civilian education includes a Master of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Excelsior College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance with a Safety specialization and a Minor in Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

CSM Williams awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (3rd OLC; the Army Commendation Medal (7th OLC); the Army Achievement Medal (5th OLC); Good Conduct Medal (8th  award); National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal; Kosovo Campaign Medal (1 bronze star); Iraq Campaign Medal (5 bronze stars); Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Non-commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 5) the Army Service Ribbon; the Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral  6); NATO Medal (1 bronze star); Master Aviation Crewmember Badge; Air Assault Badge; Order of Saint Michael (Bronze) and German Armed Forces Marksmanship Badge (Bronze).

He is married to the former Tenithe Hayslett. They have four children, Khaleem, Sophia, Chance, and Amina.
