CW5 Michael A. Corsaro, Chief Warrant Officer, Aviation Branch
Chief Warrant Officer Five Mike Corsaro is a native of McKeesport, Pennsylvania. He focused on his military career after graduating from college in May 1989 at which time he entered the US Army Initial Entry Rotary Wing School at Fort Rucker, Alabama (known as Fort Novosel since 2023).
CW5 Corsaro has had the honor to serve in a number of technical, tactical, operational and advisory assignments beginning in the US Army Reserves as a Pilot-in-Command and Flight Operations Officer, 5th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment. Transitioning to Active Duty, he was assigned as the unit Armament Officer, 3rd Battalion, 6th Cavalry Regiment. CW5 Corsaro served in multiple deployments in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan as an Instructor Pilot with 4th Squadron, 3rd Aviation Regiment with duties in Kuwait and Iraq; Standardization Instructor Pilot, 4th Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment; Battalion Standardization Officer, 1st Battalion, 2nd Aviation Regiment with duties as Task Force Standardization Officer in Afghanistan. Next, he served as a Standardization Instructor Pilot for the Directorate of Evaluations and Standardizations visiting each CAB around the globe. CW5 Corsaro was then assigned as the Brigade Standardization Officer for the 2nd Infantry Division, 2nd Combat Aviation Brigade. CW5 Corsaro served as the Command Chief Warrant Officer of the 4th Infantry Division, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade with duties in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria, before his most recent assignment as the Senior Warrant Officer Advisor to the Commanding General of the 4th Infantry Division.
Mr. Corsaro holds a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Sacramento and has met all his professional military education. He is also a graduate of the US Army initial rotary wing course in August of 1991 and has graduated from the aviator qualification courses for the AH-64A/D/E, CH-47D/F, UH-60A/L, UH-1H helicopters, and private pilot ratings in single engine fixed wing aircraft.
Happily married, he has been blessed with his wife Suk, who are the proud parents of Joshua and Jacob. CW5 Corsaro is a fitness enthusiast who enjoys cycling and is a faithful fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Army football team.
