AK-47 Simulator
The AK-47 simulator provides visual and sound effects for training scenarios. The simulator is totally portable with refillable oxygen and propane tank unit supplied by the Training Support Center.
HG-1 Grenade
The HG-1 is a grenade training device which provides an audible and visual report, and a realistic smoke signature. The audible report is created by electronically detonating a 1.45 rated pyrotechnic initiator. A visual smoke signature is created by the “powder pack” and LED array. The initiator is fully contained in powder pack and does not come in contact with user.
Improvised Explosive Device Effects Simulator
The IEDES is configured to simulate a small, medium, large and extra large explosive signature. The IEDES is designed to train key tasks of explosive hazards defeat, to predict, prevent, detect, classify, neutralize, mark, report and record EH and to protect personnel, equipment and facilities from EH effects.
Laser Convoy Counter Ambush Training System
L-CCATS is a laser marksmanship training system that allows Soldiers to train with their service weapon while riding in actual vehicles. The L-CCATS System supports M-16, M4, M249, M2 and M24 weapons. Solders fire from static and moving vehicles using blank ammunition. Training with the system includes critical counter ambush driver skills such as evasive maneuvers, spacing discipline, quick reaction IED avoidance and developing vehicle/crew team cohesion.
Laser Marksmanship Training System
The LMTS is a laser marksmanship training system that supports the Army’s marksmanship training strategy. It is ideal for training scenarios in the field during the day or at night. The LMTS accommodates numerous weapons and calibers to include the M9 pistol, the M16 and M4 rifles, and the M249, M240 and M2 machine guns. LMTS allows units to conduct both initial and sustainment marksmanship training.
Military Protractor
The Military Protractor, GTA 5-2-12, is used for plotting locations on a map. The protractor contains two scales, one in degrees (inner scale) and one in miles (outer scale). The protractor represents the azimuth circle. The degree scale is graduated from 0 to 360 degrees each tick mark on the degree scale represents a degree. Military Protractors are issued at the Training Support Center.
Tactical Terrain Models
Tactical terrain models of the Fort Novosel training areas are used to aid officers and NCOs in mastering map reading and land navigation skills, they will gain an aptitude for dead reckoning and terrain association. Planning tactical movements, developing unit sustainment and making decisions are important land navigation at all levels.
XM-10 Artillery Simulator
The XM-10 Artillery Simulator can be used to provide simulation of IED or artillery shell impact explosion for training troops to react to a device being detonated in their area of operation. The device provides a very robust blast wave and flash when operated in the area of 150+ decibels.
XM-2A Machine Gun Simulator
The XM-2A machine gun fire simulator unit is a self contained unit with simple hose connections and 12-volt operations. This unit operates on industrial oxygen and propane to produce the noise and flash of a simulated machine gun.
