Our Mission

Our mission is to provide timely and friendly diverse military personnel service support to Soldiers, their Family members, retired military, DoD Civilians, and Government Contractors. These services include ID Card/DEERS Updates, In/Out Processing, Enlisted and Officer Records, Awards, Soldier Actions, Promotions, Casualty Assistance, Retirement Services, Separations, Soldier Readiness Processing, Reassignment Processing, OCONUS leave processing, and Trainee & Student Management. Our goal is to ensure every customer received the highest standards of excellence and customer service during their visit to the Military Personnel Division.

Privacy Act Statement

In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974 and Freedom of Information Act, the MPD is not authorized to disclose Soldiers' information to third parties to include spouses and family unless they have a valid General/Special Power of Attorney.

Casualty Assistance services include: coordinating military funeral honors for active duty, retiree, and veterans funerals; providing survivor assistance to retiree surviving spouses; processing paperwork associated with active duty deaths; providing notification and assistance to survivors of active duty personnel; and processing line of duty investigations.
Our mission is to ensure enrollment in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS), and provide Common Access Cards (CAC) and/or Official Identification Cards to Soldiers, Family members, Retirees as well as Civilian and Contract Employees working on Fort Novosel.

The PAS team is responsible for personnel database support to non-divisional units at Fort Novosel.
The Fort Novosel Personnel Management Branch provides in/out processing, permanent party personnel records, audit readiness and warrant officer candidate personnel processing.
The Personnel Reassignments Branch is responsible for processing reassignment orders for personnel on permanent change of station assignments.
The Personnel Services office mission is to provide professional and diligent service to those who serve, thereby promoting Family readiness and success.
The Retirement Services Office at Fort Novosel provides information on benefits and entitlements to active duty Soldiers and their Families preparing for retirement.
