Extreme Cold Weather throughout the Week

The National Weather Service shared that a cold front will move through our region - we can expect dangerously cold conditions Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning. Air temperatures throughout the week will be as low as the upper teens. Please take precautions to prepare for the cold. 

Weather Tips:

  • Ensure all faucets have a slow drip to prevent pipes from freezing, both inside and outside.
  • Set thermostats to heat, auto, 67-72° in facilities that are occupied and unoccupied.
  • Ensure you close all doors and windows in all homes and facilities.

Due to expected hazardous weather conditions including high winds and heavy rainfall, the Installation Commander has directed a delayed arrival for Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024. Personnel should arrive for work no earlier than 10:00 a.m. Mission essential personnel should check with their supervisor or chain of command for specific reporting instructions. Telework is encouraged for all organizations to minimize weather impacts. Additional details below for supporting agencies. • Department of Defense Education Activity schools on Fort Moore will be closed Tue. Jan. 9, 2024. • All Child Developmental Centers will have delayed opening, child drop off will begin at 8:00 a.m., Tue. Jan. 9, 2024. • All Dining Facilities will be open for the breakfast meal, Tue., Jan. 9, 2024. • Expect delayed opening times for other support activities including AAFES, DECA and FMWR facilities. Starting 24 July  2023 Buena Vista Rd ACP open to outgoing traffic

Beginning 24 July at 9 a.m., the Buena Vista Rd. ACP will be open to outgoing traffic. The ACP is automated and will allow vehicles to exit 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This new technology will help those working long hours on ranges get home sooner. Just one way we make our quality of life.

Lane Closure from 10 July - 6 August 2023

Construction crews will begin repaving Ingersoll Street from Ralph Puckett Parkway to Wold Avenue on Mon. 10 July. Repaving will occur from 10 July to 6 August and will reduce to one lane from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flagmen will control the single lane flow of traffic when work is ongoing and there will be 2 lanes open outside of repaving hours. Please use alternate routes to avoid delays.
