Heat Advisory Information

Due to an active heat advisory during the Red, White, and Blue Celebration, it is critical to stay hydrated and take breaks from the sun. Multiple cooling stations will be open to the public in the vicinity of the Parade Field:

  • Post Theater
  • Pershing Hall
  • Parade Field Trailer
The kids' bounce houses will be available starting at 7 p.m., weather permitting.

High-Risk Group Safety Warning

Due to the extreme heat advisory, the Fort Meade Public Health Emergency Officer (PHEO) strongly advises the following high-risk groups to avoid event attendance:

  • Infants and children under the age of 5.

  • Adults age 65 and older.

  • Pregnant women.

  • Those with chronic medical conditions (including but not limited to heart disease, chronic kidney disease, COPD, and cognitive impairment).

  • Those taking certain medications (including but not limited to diuretics/water pills, blood pressure medications, psychiatric medications, or antihistamines).

Road Closures (Starting at 3:00 PM)

To ensure pedestrian safety and prepare the event site, the following roads will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning at 3:00 PM until egress is complete.

Installation Access & Gate Requirements

All visitors and passengers ages 18 and older must present a valid REAL ID-compliant driver's license, state ID, or U.S. passport. All vehicles and personnel are subject to inspection and background checks.

Please pay close attention to the mandatory exit patterns. Egress will begin at approximately 9:30 PM and all traffic will be directed off the installation.
