 PCS’ing TO ITALY?

From US Army Southern European Task Force – Africa:  The SETAF-AF G-1 has asked that we remind those PCS’ing to Italy of specific requirements, and how to avoid issues to ensure a smooth transition.

    1) Approved Command Sponsorship is required for all Eligible Family Members accompanying both U.S. Military and DoD Civilians on tours to Italy.

     2) An Official (maroon) or No-Fee Regular (blue) passports with the "Missione" visa affixed, prior to arrival in Italy. Personnel who fail to obtain the "Missione" visa prior to arrival in Italy must depart the Schengen territory and return to the US or their country of origin, at their own expense, in order to obtain the necessary visa.

     3) IET Soldiers must have an approved absence request form in their possession upon departure from school enroute to Italy.

     4) NATO Travel Orders are required for Soldiers flights when PCS'ing to Europe. Visit the following link for additional information on travel, passports, visas, and pets.
