Mission

The mission of the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate Fort Liberty Claims Office is to implement the Army Claims Program and dispose of non-contractual claims for and against the United States.

The XVIII Airborne Claims Office will be closed on the following days:

August 30, 2024 - Corps Training Holiday - Closed

September 2, 2024 - Labor Day Holiday - Closed

October 11, 2024 - Corps Training Holiday - Closed

October 14, 2024 - Columbus Day - Closed

November 8, 2024 - Corps Training Holiday - Closed

November 11, 2024 - Veteran's Day - Closed

November 28, 2024 - Thanksgiving Holiday - Closed

November 29, 2024 - Corps Training Holiday - Closed

The office is closed on Federal and XVIII Airborne Corps training holidays.  We also close periodically for training obligations.

TORT CLAIMS

Claims for property damage and/or personal injury or wrongful death caused by the negligence of a government employee acting within the scope of employment are payable under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) or the Military Claims Act (MCA). A claim must be presented to the Army or other appropriate federal agency within 2 years from the date of the incident. TORT CLAIMS PACKET (SF 95)

This section receives, investigates, and settles claims filed against the United States under the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 USC 2671-2680) and the Military Claims Act (10 USC 2733) by individuals who suffered a loss or damage as a result of a government employee's negligent act while in he scope of his employment with the U.S. Government. See AR 27-20, Chapter 4, for further information on the Federal Tort Claims Act and Chapter 3 for further information on the Military Claims Act.
