Duty uniform, OCP is the only authorized uniform upon arrival.
If you are on orders and plan on flying to the area, book your flight to the Alexandria International Airport (AEX), in Alexandria, LA. Upon arrival to AEX, report to the Fort Johnson Welcome Desk (adjacent to the baggage claim area) to arrange transportation to post. If you arrive Monday -Friday between 0630 and 1530, report to Bldg. 250 Consolidated In/Out-Processing Center, on 3rd Street, across from BJACH. If you arrive on a non-duty day or after hours, report to the Warriors Keep 1716 3rd Street, (Bldg. 240) Fort Johnson, LA71459.
Should you have an emergency and need to request a leave extension, refer to your orders and call 1-800-582-5552 or call your old unit Commander to extend your leave.
If your family is traveling with you, it is important to contact the relocation specialist at the housing office at 337-537-5000/5060 to check availability. It is important to hand carry a copy of your medical, dental and shot records, birth certificates, marriage license, insurance documents, divorce decree and adoption document if any.

Vehicles entering Fort Johnson are required to have either an adult authorized ID cardholder in the vehicle or an authorized visitor pass.
To obtain the pass, the vehicle operator must process at the visitor center and present the following:
- A valid vehicle registration
- Proof of current vehicle insurance
- Valid driver's license.

Sponsorship
Congratulations on your assignment to Fort Johnson, Louisiana. Soldiers inbound to Fort Johnson will be assigned sponsors prior to arrival. Soldiers will need to use the Army Career Tracker's Total Army Sponsorship Program to initiate the DA Form 5434 (Sponsorship Program Counseling and Information Sheet) and request a sponsor. If you have not been contacted by your sponsor, reach out and contact your gaining unit or the Installation Sponsorship Liaison at usarmy.johnson.jrtc-hq.mbx.sponsor-request@army.mil.
How to Request a Sponsor?
Note: This cannot be completed until you’ve received notification from Human Resources Command. Also, please note that units are not required to assign a sponsor until 120 days prior to your report date. If you require assistance prior to that, contact the Installation Sponsorship Liaison at usarmy.johnson.jrtc-hq.mbx.sponsor-request@army.mil and request that your sponsor be assigned as soon as possible.
1. Log onto https://actnow.army.mil.
2. Click the “Messages” dropdown menu, and then “DA Form 5434.”
3. Click “Create New Form.”
4. Fill out all applicable sections (Sections 1, 2, 4 and 5).
5. Once completed, your sponsor will be notified and can begin providing you the information to better assist you in your move.
6. If your sponsor changes, you will receive notifications in the “Messages” section in ACT.

Youth Sponsorship Program
Installation youth sponsorship programs facilitate the integration of military connected youth to new surroundings during moves.
Primarily directed to preteen and teenaged youth, installation youth programs give youth information and materials on programs and services available at their new location.
Where available, youth can exchange emails, talk on the phone or chat online with other youth. The youth program staff at your new installation can offer more information on the youth sponsorship program.

There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Reservations for soldiers making a permanent change of station with or without family members and for official temporary duty visitors are made through the International Hotel Group Welch Magnolia Guest House located at 7326 Utah Avenue in Building 522.

The main building has a total of 70 guest rooms available. Thirty-Eight Rooms with queen-sized beds, Thirty-two rooms with two full-size beds, and one handicap accessible room.
Amenities
All rooms have full amenities to include cable television, microwave oven, coffee pot and refrigerator. Irons and ironing boards are in each room, cribs and high chairs are available. Laundry facilities are located on premises as well as a school bus stop.
Lodging is located in close proximity to the Child Development Centers, Youth Center, Commissary, Post Exchange, Main Post Chapel, 24-hour Shopette, dining facilities, and Post Headquarters.

It has a total of 56 guest rooms, including two handicap accessible rooms. And is only two minutes away from the Main Building located on Warrior Trail right next to the JRTC Building.
Pets
Pets require a $75 Deposit NON REFUNDABLE. There is a daily fee for pet occupancy of $7.00 per day, with a maximum of two pets per room.
There is a weight limit of 80 pounds per pet. Allowable pets include domestic dogs and cats.
Pit bulls, ferrets, reptiles and snakes are prohibited.
Authorization for any pet other than domestic dog and cats must have management approval.
Inside the guest room, pets must be secured in cages whenever Hotel employees (custodial workers, maintenance workers) are present or whenever guest are absent from their room.
Pets must be on a leash at all times when outside the room. Pet owners are responsible to scoop their animals' waste from outside areas. All pets will be exercised at least 100 feet from the building.
Pets are restricted from lobby, offices and other common areas.
Pets must be kept in a carrier cage (kennel or crate) when the guest is not in the room. If your pet is unsecured, housekeeping staff will close the guest room door and contact the Custodial Supervisor or Front Desk immediately. The guest will be notified the room could not be serviced due to unsecured pet.
Vaccinations for all pets must be current. Guest must produce a Pet Health Record from the Vet Clinic within 24 hours from check-in. The record will show that the pet is free of fleas, and any other diseases. Pet owners are responsible for damages caused by their pets.
Rooms are inventoried prior to and after each occupancy. Damages found to be caused by your pet, will be billed to you at the items' current replacement cost.
Pet owners are also responsible for revenue losses incurred if, after vacating your room, we are unable to rent the room as scheduled because of conditions caused by your pet (urine odors, unusual amounts of animal hair, damage to furniture and or decorative woods).
Guests with pets will be assigned to designated pet rooms. Pets found in rooms other than designated pet rooms will be basis for eviction.

Vehicle Registration
Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles
The Louisiana Department of Motor Vehicles is located just outside the city limits north of Leesville. The address is:

Vehicles entering Fort Johnson are required to have either an adult, authorized ID cardholder in the vehicle or an authorized visitor pass.
To obtain the pass, the vehicle operator must process at the visitor center and present the following:
- A valid vehicle registration
- Proof of current vehicle insurance
- A valid driver's license
All persons and vehicles entering the installation are subject to be searched.

Weapons Registration
The Fort Johnson Directorate of Emergency Services reminds residents and those who work on or visit the installation that privately owned weapons or firearms, must be registered on post if they are to be brought on the installation for any reason, including, but not limited to the following: Sales, hunting, use at Family Morale, Welfare and Recreation ranges, and exhibitions.
The requirement applies whether the weapons are loaded or unloaded, regardless of ammunition availability. This includes rifles, handguns, black powder weapons and historical firearms that may be part of a collection.
Personnel residing on Fort Johnson have five business days from the time of arrival or acquisition of the firearm to register it with the Visitors Control Center, located just outside of access control point 1 on Louisiana Avenue.

Borrowing from the Lending Locker is quick and easy. Stop by ACS, Monday through Wednesday and Friday8:00-4:00. (Closed on Thursday) You must bring a copy of your orders, bring you to Fort Johnson, and your ID card. Items can be borrowed for 30 days.
