Command Sergeant Major Michael D. Hall

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Michael D. Hall is a native of Grand Junction, Colorado. He enlisted in the Army in May of 2000 and attended OSUT (One Station Unit Training) at Fort Moore, Georgia to become an Infantryman.

During his career, Hall served as a Command Sergeant Major, Senior Military Instructor (SMI), Brigade Headquarters and Headquarters Company First Sergeant, Battalion Operations Sergeant Major, Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade First Sergeant, Rifle Company First Sergeant, Scout Platoon Sergeant, Rifle Company Platoon Sergeant, Squad Leader/Section Leader, Team Leader, M2 Gunner, and Rifleman.

In addition to four tours in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom; Hall deployed to Kosovo in support of the Kosovo Force, executed a tour in Korea, deployed in support of Operation Spartan Shield (OSS) in the country of Kuwait, deployed in support of the Regionally Aligned Forces (RAF) in the Republic of Korea, and most recently deployed in support of Operation Assure, Deter, and Reinforce in the country of Poland.

Hall has been assigned to the following units: 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, at Fort Cavazos, Texas; 1-64th Armored Regiment (Combined Arms Battalion), at Fort Stewart, Georgia; East Carolina University (ROTC) in Greenville, North Carolina; 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team and 1-28th Infantry at Fort Riley, Kansas; 4th Airborne and Ranger Training Battalion in Fort Moore, Georgia; 1-505th Parachute Infantry Regiment at Fort Liberty, North Carolina; Operations Group at Fort Johnson, Louisiana; 1-503rd Infantry Regiment (Air Assault) at the ROK; and 1-325th Airborne Infantry Regiment at Fort Liberty, North Carolina.

Hall’s military and civilian education include: the US Army Ranger School, Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, Airborne School, School for Command Preparation (SCP), Senior Leader Course (SLC), Advanced Leader Course (ALC), Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC), Battle Staff Course and he is graduate of Class 68 of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy. Hall holds a Master of Arts in Management and Leadership.

Hall’s awards include: The Bronze Star with Valor for his leadership in the Faryab Province of Afghanistan. The Bronze Star Medal (3rd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (5th Award), Army Accommodation Medal (6th Award), Army Achievement Medal (4th Award), Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal (Bronze Service Star), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Service Star), Iraq Campaign Medal (3 Bronze Service Star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (5th Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (4th Award), NATO Medal (2nd Award), Ranger Tab, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and the prestigious Orders of Saint Maurice (Centurion) and Saint George (Bronze Medallion).
