Command Sergeant Major Braden K. Sickles

Command Sergeant Major Braden K. Sickles was born in Davenport, IA.  He enlisted in the United States Army in 1999 out of Lawrenceville, GA, and completed One Station Unit Training as an Infantryman at Fort Benning, Georgia. 

Command Sergeant Major Sickles has held leadership positions as a Team Leader, Squad Leader, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Rifle Company First Sergeant, Headquarters Company First Sergeant, Senior Military Instructor, Battalion Operations Sergeant Major, Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Commandant and Garrison Command Sergeant Major.

Command Sergeant Major Sickles has served in the Army for over 24 years in various Duty assignments throughout the United States and overseas, to include 1st Battalion, 22th Infantry Regiment, 4th Forward Support Battalion and 1st Battalion, 66th Armor Regiment (4th Infantry Division), Fort Hood, Texas; 2nd Battalion, 13th  Infantry Regiment (193rd Infantry Brigade), Fort Jackson, South Carolina; 1st Battalion, 33rd Calvary Regiment, 3rd Battalion 187th Infantry Regiment (101st Airborne Division), Fort Campbell, KY; Texas Tech University ROTC (5th BDE USACC), Lubbock, TX; 2nd Battalion 3rd Infantry Regiment (1st Stryker Brigade 2nd Infantry Division), Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA; First Army OC/T Academy, Camp Shelby, MS & Rock Island Arsenal, IL; and currently Garrison Headquarters, Fort Johnson, LA  Command Sergeant Major Sickles has deployed five times in support of the War on Terrorism, Iraq 2003-2004, Iraq 2005-2006, Afghanistan 2010-2011, Afghanistan 2012-2013, and Afghanistan 2014-2015; as well as once in support of operations on the United States Southern Border 2019-2020.

Command Sergeant Major Sickles’ schools and education include all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System culminating with graduation from Sergeants Major Course Class 67, the Basic Airborne Course, Instructor Training Course, Drill Sergeant School, Army Combatives level 1, 2, and 3, Air Assault Course, Pathfinder Course, Ranger School, The Commander/First Sergeant Course, The Master Resilience Training Course, Battalion Pre-Command Course, Battalion Command Sergeant Major Development Course, Observer Controller Academy, Pre-Commandant Command Course, Brigade Pre-Command Course, Brigade Command Sergeant Major Development Course and Garrison Pre-Command Course.  He has earned both a Bachelor and Master of Arts in Management from American Military University.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), Purple Heart, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 oak leaf clusters), Army Commendation Medal with “V” device (1 oak leaf cluster), Army Commendation Medal (2 oak leaf clusters), Army Achievement Medal (9 oak leaf clusters), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award (1 oak leaf cluster), Meritorious Unit  Award (2 oak leaf clusters), Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal (8th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/3 bronze stars, Iraq Campaign Medal w/2 bronze stars, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon w/numeral 5, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon w/numeral 5, and the NATO Medal.  He has earned the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Drill Sergeant Badge, Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and Air Assault Badge.  He is also a Centurion of the Order of Saint Maurice and a Distinguished Member of the 187th Infantry Regiment.

Command Sergeant Major Sickles’ daughter Annabelle currently resides in Clarksville, TN.
