Brigadier General Jason A. Curl

Commanding General, JRTC and Fort Johnson

Brigadier General (BG) Jason A. Curl commissioned as an Infantry Officer from the United States Military Academy in 1995 and has served in a variety of maneuver assignments.

BG Curl has held multiple command positions to include a Rifle Company and HHC in 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division; 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty, North Carolina, Commander of the Operations Group (COG) at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Fort Johnson, Louisiana, and the Deputy Commanding General – Operations for the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, New York. Most recently he served as the CJ3, Director of Operations for Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq and Syria.

During his career, BG Curl has served three combat tours in Afghanistan and two combat tours in Iraq.BG Curl's awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (with 2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters), Defense Superior Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal (with 3 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters), Meritorious Service Medal (with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters), Combat and Expert Infantryman Badges, Ranger Tab, and Master Parachutist Badge.

BG Curl is married to the former Rebecca Forsberg of Wellsville, New York and they have three adult children.
