Colonel Ryan D. Barnett

Colonel Ryan D. Barnett was most recently the Deputy CJ5 at USFOR-A. Prior to that, he was the Division Operations Officer. He has deployed to Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Colonel Barnett was first assigned to 40th EN, 2/1AD in Baumholder, Germany as a Sapper Platoon leader, then Assault and Obstacle Platoon Leader, then Support Platoon leader, and finally Battalion Logistics Officer. Following his assignment in Germany, he transferred into the Infantry branch. Since then, he has served as a number of command and staff positions, including: adjutant for 1-187th IN, 3/101st in Fort Campbell, KY; Company Commander, 1-187th IN; Human Resources Command Readiness Officer in Fort Knox, KY; Division Operations Officer in 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, NY; Battalion Operations Officer in 1-32 IN, in both 3/10 MTN and 1/10 MTN; Brigade Executive Officer in 2/10 MTN; Operations Officer for Operations Group in Fort Irwin, CA; Battalion Commander in 2-23 IN, 1/4 ID in Fort Carson, CO; and Division Operations Officer, 4ID in Fort Carson.

Colonel Barnett earned is bachelor’s degree at Arkansas State University before commissioning as an Engineer Officer. He attended the Engineer Officer Basic Course, the Infantry Captain’s Career Course, the Combined General Staff College, School of Advanced Military Studies, and the U.S. Naval War College.
