Command Sgt. Major Billy J. Norman

CSM Billy J. Norman entered the United States Army on June 4th, 1996.  He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia as a 92G Food Service Specialist.
CSM Norman’s assignments include: Food Service Specialist, Squad Leader, Section Leader, and Subsistence NCO, 568th Engineer Company, 937th Engineer Group Fort Riley, Kansas;  Platoon Sergeant and Senior Food Operations Sergeant, Headquarter & Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion 27th Infantry Regiment, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii;  Training NCO, Operations NCO, Senior Food Operations Sergeant, and Platoon Sergeant, 547th Medical Company, 63rd Medical Brigade, Fort Lewis, Washington;  3rd Detachment Sergeant, Special Operations Logistics Support Element, Joint Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina;  First Sergeant, Charlie Company, 262nd Quartermaster Battalion, Fort Lee, Virginia; Operations NCOIC, Joint Logistics Operation Center, Joint Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Battalion Command Sergeant Major, 10th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, Fort Drum, New York. CSM Norman has completed twelve deployments where he served as the Support Operations NCOIC, Camp Commandant, Senior Logistics Sergeant, Logistics Task Force First Sergeant, Task Force Logistics LNO, and J4 Sergeant Major in support of combat operations during Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq, various operations in the Horn of Africa, and Operation Inherent Resolve, Iraq and Kuwait.
CSM Norman has completed the following military courses:  Warrior Leadership Course, Advanced Leadership Course, Senior Leadership Course, First Sergeant Course, United States Sergeant’s Major Academy Non-Resident Class 42, Ranger Course, SERE High Risk Course, Battle Staff Course, Support Operations Course, Joint Logistics Course, Basic Airborne Course, and the Air Assault Course.
CSM Norman’s military awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2 OLC), Distinguished Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (5th award), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (4th award), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary and Service Medals, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon w/ Numeral 3, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon Numeral 3, Ranger Tab, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Honorable Order of Saint Martin Medal. 
CSM Norman is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from Upper Iowa University.
