CSM Shawn M. Redondo hails from Napes, Florida. He joined the US Army in July 2003 from Fort Hamilton, NY. He attended basic training at Fort Benning, GA, and then he attended Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Rucker, AL, where he graduated as a 15Q Air Traffic Controller. He received his Bachelors in Leadership and Workforce Development from the US Army Command and General Staff College.

CSM Redondo’s assignments include 3rd Battalion, 58th Aviation Regiment at Grafenwhoer Germany, where he served as an Air Traffic Controller and a Training Supervisor; deployed with the Battalion to Tall Afar, Iraq in support of OIF; 1st Battalion, 11th AVN Regt as a Shift Leader and Training Supervisor;82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC, where he deployed in support of OEF to Bagram, Afghanistan, serving as an Airspace Command and Control NCO; the NCO Academy at Fort Rucker, AL, where he served as a Small Group Leader for the Advanced Leader’s Course and Senior Leader’s Course and Senior Small Group Leader for the Academy; 1-52 Aviation Support Battalion, he deployed once again to Shindand, Afghanistan, to help establish the Afghanistan Air Force; First Sergeant for C CO, 1-101 Attack Helicopter Battalion at Fort Campbell, KY. He then completed an interpost transfer and assumed the responsibilities as the First Sergeant for D Co 5-101 Assault Helicopter Battalion, he deployed with D Co to Camp Dhalke, Afghanistan, in support of OFS. CSM Redondo is an Alumni of Class 70 United States Sergeant Majors Academy. After the Sergeant Majors Academy, he was assigned to the Unites States Aviation and Mission Command at Redstone Arsenal where he performed the duties of the G3/5 Operations SGM.

CSM Redondo’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/ C-Device, Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct  Medal (1 Silver Knot), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (4 Bronze Star Device), Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Star Device), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, NCO Professional Development Medal (Numeral 5), Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 6), NATO Medal, Sr. Crewmember’s Badge, Parachutist’s Badge and Air Assault Badge.
