Command Sergeants Major (CSM) Montrell L. Kea, is a native of Currie, NC. He enlisted the United States Army in June 1997. He completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia where he was awarded the MOS 92A (Automated Logistic Specialist).

CSM Kea has served in numerous leadership positions including: Platoon Sergeant, BN S4 Supply NCOIC, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, Support Operations Sergeant Major, G4 Supply and Services Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Kea’s include: 1/159th Aviation Regiment; Fort Bragg North Carolina; XVIII Airborne Corps Headquarters, Fort Bragg North Carolina; 32nd Signal Battalion, Darmstadt Germany; 313th Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 82d Airborne Division Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 407th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd BCT,  82d Airborne Division; 528th Sustainment Brigade Special Operations Liaison, Yongsan-Korea, 528th Sustainment Brigade Global Support Operations Cell, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; United States Army Sergeants Major Academy(Class 68), Fort Bliss, Texas; 10th Sustainment Brigade Support Operations, Fort Drum, New York; 1st Armored Division Supply and Services G4, Fort Bliss Texas; 123rd Brigade Support Battalion CSM, Fort Bliss Texas. CSM Kea has deployed to Guatemala, Honduras, Bosnia, Iraq, Poland, Kuwait and Haiti for combat, humanitarian aid and peacekeeping operations.

CSM Kea’s military education includes all levels of Noncommissioned Officer Education system and cap-stoning with attendance at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 68).  CSM Kea is also a graduate of Airborne School; Jumpmaster School; Theater Special Operations Course; Master Resilience Course; Support Operations Course; Equal Opportunity Leaders Course; First Sergeant Course and Pre BN CSM Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix and a Master’s of Science degree in Human Resources from Excelsior College.

CSM Kea resides with his wife, Cicily and has two children, Ajzahn (20) and Ariez (19).
