The Fort Bragg Special Missions Unit (SMU) is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2026 Operator Assessment and Selection Course (ASC). This organization is designed to conduct missions requiring both rapid response and surgical application of unique special operations skills. All MOSs and branches are encouraged to apply due to the diverse capabilities and requirements of this unit.
Eligibility Requirements
- Any MOS or Branch can apply
- Ranks: Sergeant through Master Sergeant, Captain through Major, Warrant Officers 1-4
- Minimum three years’ time in service
- Minimum 22 years of age
- Officers must be branch qualified and have completed their O-3 key developmental assignment
Note: Officers may submit an application as long as they will receive their first 12-month KD OER by the application deadline.
