Lt. Col. Laura C. Bellot 

Lieutenant Colonel Laura Bellot is the Deputy Garrison Commander for Transformation, Fort Gordon, Georgia. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading all Garrison Transformation operations with internal and external leaders and stakeholders to plan, evaluate and synchronize all growth actions. She is an Engineer Officer in the United States Army Reserve with over twenty five years of service.     

Lt. Col. Bellot is a native of Hudson, New Hampshire. She began her military career as an Enlisted Soldier in the Army Reserve in May 1988. She received a direct commission as a Second Lieutenant November 2000.  

Detailed to the Engineer Corps, Lt. Col. Bellot began her commissioned career at Fort Belvoir, Virginia as the Battalion S1 with 249th Engineer Battalion (Prime Power). She was the first Active Guard Reserve assigned to Prime Power, a versatile power generation battalion under Headquarters United States Army Corps of Engineers. During Operation Noble Eagle in 2003, she served as a Platoon Leader, then the Headquarters and Headquarters Company Commander with the 841st Engineer Battalion, Miami, Florida. She was then assigned as an Environmental Staff Officer and Facility Engineer with the 81st Regional Support Command, Birmingham, Alabama in 2004. She managed over 300 Army Reserve facilities in 5 states and the maintenance and repairs of 257 facilities within 8 states. 

In support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2006 she served as a Company Commander, Task Force Guardian, Bagram, Afghanistan. Upon return Laura served as an Operations and Training Officer with First Army, Fort Gillem, Georgia. She was responsible for the Training Readiness Oversight and Mobilization Training for Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom, Army Reserve and Nation Guard Soldiers. She also planned and coordinated the Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard training readiness for Army missions. She went on to become the Mobilization officer with the 335th Signal Command (Theater), Forest Park, Georgia. The 335th Signal Command is an operational and functional command with Active and Reserve Soldiers, providing Signal and Cyber direct support to 3rd Army/USARCENT in Southwest Asia and Homeland Defense missions throughout the United States. 

She received a nominative assignment in 2013, as an Army Secretariat Board Recorder, Department of Army Selection Boards, Human Resource Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky. She was selected for resident Command General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas with a follow on assignment as the Engineer Planner for the Army Reserve Engagement Team, Eighth Army, Yongsan, Korea. Upon return she served as the Operations Officer/S3 for the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Contingency Response Unit, Washington, DC. She joined the Headquarters Department of the Army Staff in October 2019 where she served as the Operations Branch Chief, Reserve Integration and Talent Management Branch Chief for the Office of the Chief of Engineers, Washington, DC. She then had the opportunity in September 2020 to develop cadets to become Second Lieutenants as the Professor of Military Science, Drexel University Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Program.  

Lt. Col. Bellot was awarded the Joint Women's Leadership Meritorious Service Award in 2019. She has earned a Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Army Superior Unit Award and Army Staff Badge among others. She received her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of Western New England and a Masters in Management from American Military University.
