Fort Drum’s Summer Concert Series
at LeRay Mansion kicks off June 11
FORT DRUM, N.Y. (May 20. 2019) – The U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Drum invites the public to its first Summer Concert Series at LeRay Mansion, telling the story of America through a celebration of our nation’s music.
Each of the concerts will take place on the lawn of the historic LeRay Mansion. Those planning to attend are invited to bring a picnic supper and must bring their own lawn chair or blanket. Beverages and snacks will be available for sale.
Concert goers will not be allowed to bring alcohol, tobacco (to include all e-cigarette products) or pets (service animals excepted) on the grounds.
The 10th Mountain Division Band will kick off the concert series from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 (rescheduled from June 4), with patriotic music in a variety of styles.
On Tuesday, July 23, from 7 to 9 p.m., the 10th Mountain Division’s Jazz Ensemble will highlight the influence of jazz on America.
The final concert, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, will showcase the 10th Mountain Division Rock Band, Avalanche. Selected music will highlight the progression of blues into rock ‘n’ roll and pop.
Performances are free and open to the public. Everyone should bring their own lawn chair or blanket.
All non-DoD ID card holders can obtain a one-day pass at the new Fort Drum Welcome Center located next to the Cerjan Gate, located off of U.S. Route 11 and connected to Interstate 781. Visitors wishing to access the installation may do so by providing valid photo identification and voluntarily submitting to a National Crime Information Center-III (NCIC-III) background check.
All parking will be at the Light Fighter School lot, and shuttle transportation will be provided.
