BATTALION HISTORY
The 2d Chemical Battalion consisting of the Headquarters and Headquarters Company and 181st Chemical Company (HR) at Fort Cavazos, TX and the 21st Chemical Company (HR) at Fort Bragg, NC, the 63rd Chemical Company (HR) at Fort Campbell, KY, and the 172d Chemical Company (HR) at Fort Riley, KS.
The 2d Chemical Battalion is a United States Army chemical unit stationed at Fort Cavazos, Texas, United States and is part of the 48th Chemical Brigade. The battalion can trace its lineage from the 30th Engineer Regiment (Gas and Flame) and has served in World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.
